Our investment philosophy is to use our methodology and technology to capitalize on the volatile nature of this asset class and the short-medium term inefficiencies in the marketplace, especially in select digital assets beyond bitcoin.

Managing Member

Charles Hwang

Charles Hwang is the Managing Member and Chief Investment Officer of Lightning Capital. The Fund is focused primarily on capitalizing on inefficiencies in the cryptoasset market based on a proven methodology. Before founding the hedge fund, Mr. Hwang was a valuation consultant and a forensic accountant at Ernst & Young LLP. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Equity Trader starting in May 2000. He is also an Adjunct at Baruch College teaching a course on blockchain and cryptoassets. Mr. Hwang received his Master’s of Accountancy degree from the Baruch College and his B.S. in Economics from the University of Rochester. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder (CFA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Jason Albanese

Jason Albanese is a proven, Inc 500 Technology Growth Equity CEO. Currently he is a General Partner and CEO of Lightning Capital, an industry leader in Crypto asset management. Prior to Lightning Capital, he co-founded Centric Digital, where as CEO he grew the company from inception to over $40M in US sales and a $100M+ enterprise value overseeing 300 employees worldwide. Within 5 years of its creation, Centric Digital became an industry leader in Digital Transformation insights and consulting, serving S&P 500 companies in Healthcare, Finance and Retail while reaching #34 in the Inc 500 and the #1 fastest growing company in New York State. Previously he co-founded and served as CEO of Sagesecure LLC, a digital asset risk & analytics company that provided security measurement to the S&P 500 globally. He has advised the executive leadership of companies around the world including Rio Tinto, Humana, AIG, JP Morgan, and American Express. Albanese is an active venture investor in early stage and growth equity companies in technology and crypto, and serves on several boards as an advisor to their management teams. Albanese has published 2 books on digital risk & management with McGraw-Hill and Pearson, and is a contributing columnist at INC.com and frequent guest lecturer and speaker on digital strategy, risk management and crypto. He was an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year Semi-Finalist and is an active member of YPO for the past decade where he is the Chairman of the board of directors of YPO Manhattan. Throughout his career, Albanese has been an active philanthropist, most recently serving on the board of Partnership with Children in NYC.

Jock Percy is a Finance & Technology professional with deep expertise in Finance, Technology, Network Technology, Trading & Market Connectivity. Jock was founder and CEO of Perseus, the ultra low latency high frequency trading infrastructure whose investors were Silicon Valley Bank and Goldman Sachs, and also FXecosystem, foreign exchange trading infrastructure. Perseus became the world's leading provider of high-speed global networks, colocation and trading technologies whose customers included almost all the world's top-tier banks, market makers, market data and exchanges and a high number of Fortune 500 companies and an early adopter of blockchain technology and crypto. Jock was recognized by various awards including; Financial News Rising Stars in Trading & Technology 40 under 40, The FinTech Top 50, INC 500, Financial News Rising Stars in Trading & Technology 40 under 40, Invest Hong Kong Grand Award Winner, Institutional Investor Tech 50, and Crain's. Jock read his PhD in Economics at University of Canterbury and University College London. He is an active Young Presidents Organization member and serves on the board of YPO Manhattan. He is Co-Chair of the Children’s Museum East End, NY.
